Coming into my second day of aged care placement I was already so much more confident. Today I did my first meal feeding, I was nervous but completely fine after a few seconds. Today made me realise it takes a lot of patients and confidence in doing this job, both qualities I am still working on. Today I also took a residents blood pressure from an automatic blood pressure machine, which I had never previously used. I did not know exactly how it worked so I stepped back and asked my fellow student nurses to show me. They were happy to and it was very simple and straight away I took the residents blood pressure correctly.
